As most of you know, our server is currently run off of a home computer on a broadband connection. While it works well for the most part, there are many things that could be improved, such as the tick rate (currently 33), latency (players currently average around 120ms), and the number of slots (currently 8).
However, to rent a server costs a a lot of money so we need to have a way to encourage donations towards the new server. This has been decided by allowing the purchase of administrator rights on the server. Amount of donations will determine whether or not their will be a paid server. Remember, you are buying admin, whether it be on a paid server or not.

Information about VPSLand Servers
Of course their is always a stipulation to everything. The one here is VPSLand QOS (Quality of Service) in a way. If the VPSLand Servers can handle SRCDS (Source Dedicated Server), and also dish out low latencies, it will be great! Otherwise we will be forced after a month try-out to switch to the higher-priced Counter-Strike.com servers. A few big draws for us toward VPSLand are the fact that we can use remote desktop (not FTP), have a static IP (Counter-Strike.com also has this), enough disk space for anything more that we need including a better website, Ventrilo, HLStatsX, and any other thing that you can think of!
Our main concerns are that:
1) It might not be fast enough bandwidth wise (latency) - we simply just do not know.
2) It might not be fast enough (processing wise) as it is a shared server.
3) We do not know whether 400GB/mo. of bandwidth is too little.
